Passports and Visas
Greece is a Member-State of the European Union and has signed the Schengen Agreement. EU Visas are not required for EU citizens who only need their identity card to enter Greece. However, a passport is necessary for a number of other transactions, such as currency exchange, purchases, etc.
Check the list of countries requiring a visa from the website of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Greek Embassies or Consulates in your country, or from your travel agencies. Make sure that your passport is valid for a minimum of three months beyond the end of your projected stay.
